Puffs is the story of Wayne Hopkins: a regular boy who finds out he's a wizard and goes to school in England where he makes two best friends and has adventures. This perhaps sounds familiar. But, Wayne is sorted as a Puff, he and the other Puffs simply want to learn how to be wizards and avoid attacks by evil wizards.

Wayne Hopkins
The awkwardly earnest heart of the show. Wayne barrels through seven years of magical mayhem trying desperately to be important… and occasionally succeeding in the most Puff way possible. It’s a big part with plenty of comedy, angsty outbursts, and some touching moments.

Oliver Rivers
A math‑obsessed outsider who never quite gets the hang of wizard life but proves invaluable when logic meets magic. He’s the “wait, what?” voice of reason with a dry wit and some heroic late‑game moments.

Megan Jones
Our resident rebel with a tragic backstory, Megan hides her heart behind sarcasm until she becomes one of the Puffs’ fiercest defenders. Equal parts snark, swagger, and unexpected depth.

Narrator
The omnipresent storyteller with a twinkle in their eye and a sharp tongue for undercutting grand heroics. They shift tone on a dime—from academic to ridiculous—and keep the whole world spinning.

Ernie Mac
The self‑appointed “best Puff,” boasting bravado and a love for slogans. He gets solid comic beats, rallying‑cry moments, and some surprisingly brave action beats.

Hannah
Sweet, awkward, and endlessly loyal, Hannah embodies the quiet heroism of the Puffs. She grows from comic relief into a steady, encouraging presence in the final battle.

J. Finch Fletchley
Boyish and fun (his words!), J. Finch is the wildcard who veers between absurd non sequiturs and real bravery—until his sudden, dramatic exit. A delightful character with short but memorable scenes.

Leanne
The oddball Puff who starts as a comic aside and ends up a scene‑stealing action hero. Her blend of childlike wonder and unexpected badassery makes her a surprise audience favorite.

Sally Perks
Perpetually overlooked and slightly spacey, Sally quietly becomes part of the Puffs’ heart. She gets small but juicy comic beats—often tied to her glasses—and one gut‑punch dramatic moment.

Susie Bones
The tragic Puff who improbably survives (“My aunt. Me. Still alive.”). Her running gag of imminent doom turns into genuine courage later, giving the role a fun tonal shift.

Cedric
The golden boy Puff—charming, competent, and utterly sincere. An important mentor‑type role, setting the tone for what the Puffs aspire to before, well… you know.

Mr. Voldy
The melodramatic villain, alternating between terrifying and absurdly affectionate with his Death Buddies. A great chance for over‑the‑top villainy with unexpected comic beats.

Xavia Jones
Megan’s dangerous and delightfully unhinged mother, shifting from villain to reluctant Puff in a mix of high‑stakes drama and slapstick.

A Certain Potions Teacher: The perpetually exasperated dungeon master of sarcasm, doling out insults and docking Puff points with glee.

First Headmaster: A kindly old leader who loves giving and taking points with whimsy.

Second Headmaster: A somewhat gruffer era of leadership, and definitely a different person.

Harry: The chosen one who pops in and out, obliviously stealing the spotlight with heroic ease.

Professor McG: Brisk, authoritative, but secretly rooting for everyone.

Professor Sproutty: Plant enthusiast with a soft spot for life lessons.

Real Mr Moody: Gruff, intense, and keen on the unforgivable curses.

Professor Turban: Nervous stammering hides something sinister.

A Fat Friar: A well‑meaning ghost mentor with bruised self‑esteem.

Myrtle: The bathroom ghost with a knack for awkward interruptions

Blondo Malfoy: The sneering bully who is blonde.

Sorter Hat (voice): A hat that sorts.

Uncle Dave: Wayne’s beer‑in‑hand guardian from New Mexico.

Professor Locky: A smiley fraud.

Ginny: A sweet redhead with a suspicious diary;

Death Buddies: Voldy’s entourage.

A Very Tall Man: A very tall man with a very brief appearance.

Professor Lanny: The slightly unhinged seer of doom in Divination

Ms. Babble: Earnestly explaining mundane Mug-world items.

Colin: A student who takes pictures annoyingly.

Mr. Nick: A friendly-enough ghost.

Helga: The founding Puff, a puppet.

Sal: The founding Snake, a puppet.

Rowena: The founding Smart, a puppet.

Ric Gryff: The founding Brave, a puppet.

Rita Scooter: A gossip-hungry journalist cameo.

Goyle: A monosyllabic brute.

Clumsy Longbottom: A bumbling Brave.

Frenchy: A comically French champion.

Viktor: The intimidating exchange student.
